Editorial policy
Coastal Sporting Life aims to make coastal sporting culture clear without overstating what a story can establish. We explain our editorial choices, label paid collaborations and correct material when it is wrong.
Accuracy and context
We check names, descriptions and factual claims before publication, and make clear when a passage is interpretation rather than settled fact. We avoid presenting one venue, custom or coast as typical of all others. If a subject depends on local arrangements, we identify that limit and avoid offering instructions that require an official or local rules check.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of a partnership. A partner cannot buy a favourable editorial conclusion or quietly shape an independent article. Where a relationship is relevant to a piece, we disclose it plainly.
Corrections
Readers can send a correction through the Contact page. Include the article and the passage at issue, along with the correction and any helpful context. We review specific, credible concerns and update published material when warranted; changes should not leave readers with a misleading account.
Paid material and illustrations
Paid collaborations and partner placements are labelled so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where that applies, the image is identified accordingly. Illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence of a particular place or event.
Place is part of the game
A coastline is more than a backdrop. Its shape, weather and shared spaces affect how people play, gather and watch.
