Write for us
Coastal Sporting Life welcomes pitches about the meeting of sport, shoreline and local life. Send proposals through the Contact page; a concise, specific pitch is more useful than a finished draft sent without context.
Subjects that fit
Pitch a distinct, evergreen story about a coastal sporting venue, local game, matchday custom, seasonal rhythm or the way a shoreline shapes play and spectating. We are interested in clear explanations, thoughtful comparisons, histories grounded in verifiable material, and observation-led guides that readers can use without specialist advice.
Make the pitch concrete
Tell us the central question, the particular place or practice involved, why it matters to a general reader and how the piece would answer it. Note the kinds of sources or material you would use and flag any uncertainty, access limits or relevant relationship. Avoid broad proposals that cover every sport or coast at once.
Send a proposal
Use the Contact page and select the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short summary and a brief description of your proposed approach. Do not include confidential information or claim access you do not have. A proposal is not a promise of publication.
Place is part of the game
A coastline is more than a backdrop. Its shape, weather and shared spaces affect how people play, gather and watch.
